rollingstar35
Hello All, I am planning to go to Canada for my H1b stamping. In the process, I have to get my Canada Visa done. I filled out all the documentation and sent all my documents via mail to the Canadian embassy in Washington D.C. After sending out the documents, when i checked back the website, i found out that this Visa office does not process any Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Visitor visas anymore. And they have mailed all my documents back to my address. My question is, Now, I thought to send my documents to NY office. This time, when i was checking the NY website, http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/new_york/visas/index.aspx?lang=eng&view=d on the top they have a paragraph in yellow, that clearly states that As of June 18, 2012, the visa office in New York will no longer accept Temporary Resident Permit, Rehabilitation or Authorization to Return to Canada applications submitted in person; the application will be returned to the applicant. Applications sent by mail, postmarked after June 18, 2012, and received at the visa office in New York will be returned to the applicant. My question is: 1) When that paragraph says "Applications sent by mail, postmarked..... " does that mean that only Walk in interviews are the only way that people would be getting the Canadian visa. I want to mail my documents to the Embassy because, I am not in a great hurry, and I live in North Carolina, and its almost 600 miles from here. And in another link, http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/new_york/visas/apply-how_a_demande-comment.aspx?lang=eng&view=d#mail they have given mailing instructions. My question is, Is Walkin the only way we can get the Canadian Visa, or Can we mail all the documents in the package too. I got confused coz, at one place they said Applications sent by mail will be returned, and at the same time, they give mailing instructions. ANy help is truly appreciated. Thank you Link to comment
saxena638
That is for 'temporary resident permit.' You need a 'temporary resident visa.' Both are different. I think you can mail the application. Call them and ask. Link to comment
