Hello

My wife is currently working on EAD and she also has valid stamped H4 .

If she decides to take any European airline for India travel, will that be OK?

I am assuming that all that is required in EU/UK airport is stamped US visa, they don’t care if she is using EAD in US or not. so there should not be any travel problem in transit thru EU/UK as she has stamped H4.

She has to think about EAD/AP only when she arrives in US as her status starts coming into picture when she lands in US.

Please comment and correct me if I am thinking wrong.

I wouldn’t have thought much and would have bought any gulf airline tickets but right now those are much expensive than EU/UK airline tickets.

I am assuming that her valid H4 stamp should be enough for EU transit irrespective of her actual status (EAD in this case) in US. EAD/AP status is imp at the port of intry.

Please comment and correct me.

Thank you.

Why do you think this matters? To be exact, what do you think this may impact?

Belle,

She is working on EAD so I assume that in US she has lost her H4 status. However, she has valid stamped H4 on passport.

My question is: Does she have to worry about transit visa through Europe as she doesnt have H4 status anymore? but she has stamped H4 visa. Her use of EAD, doesnt affect her H4 stamp which is what is required for transiting through Europe.

Please correct me if I am wrong here.

Thanks

Your status in the US and your Visa validation can only be done by US authorities. EU/UK authorities are not concerned about it at all. All they want to see is the stamped visa which is not expired and thats all. Whats your status in the US (H4 or EAD or whatever), they dont care about that.

Anyway, you only transit visa for EU in case you have more than 1 stop in EU. If you just have stop that means you are not allowed to go outside the terminal and hence dont need the transit visa.
