Immienquiry
Hello, I already have my visa appointment booked for Sept 5th in Vancouver. I need to mail my Canadian visitor visa documents. Everything is ready.. but here's the things I am SOO CONFUSED about. 1. We are filling Temporary Resident Visa Application.. Is this Visitor Visa Application? or something else? 2. On the family form - IMM5645 - should we check Visitor or Other? 3. Spent a 100 dollars all together in Wallgreens/Sears/CVS.. and still unable to get a 35mmx45mm photo.. all of them are giving 50x70 saying thats the normal template.. is this OK to send? 4. I am from TN state.. which Canadian Embassy do I mail it to NY or Washington DC? Thank you for your advice in advance.. These questions help 3 more friends who are in line to apply. ravi4408
Hello, I already have my visa appointment booked for Sept 5th in Vancouver. I need to mail my Canadian visitor visa documents. Everything is ready.. but here's the things I am SOO CONFUSED about. 1. We are filling Temporary Resident Visa Application.. Is this Visitor Visa Application? or something else?( It is the visitor visa they call it temporary residence Visa- US calls them B1/B2 lot of names but same thing) 2. On the family form - IMM5645 - should we check Visitor or Other? Visitor/ since it is meant for visiting and you are actually visting what ever the purpose might me. 3. Spent a 100 dollars all together in Wallgreens/Sears/CVS.. and still unable to get a 35mmx45mm photo.. all of them are giving 50x70 saying thats the normal template.. is this OK to send? Please carry the pdf that has the instructions. I got it in sears please let them know that you will not pay unless you get it according to the instruction. are you measuring the head or whole photo. you are supposed to measure only head. if that fits then you can cut the photo by urself with the remaining instructions. 4. I am from TN state.. which Canadian Embassy do I mail it to NY or Washington DC? it does not matter you can send it where ever you want. Please be careful with payment methods though. Washington needs cashiers check in different name than other consulates. I have sent it to detroit. Thank you for your advice in advance.. These questions help 3 more friends who are in line to apply. if you want further info please email me @ ravikar987 at gmail dot com Abhi Link to comment
immnovice
1. That's correct you need to fill Temporary Resident Visa Application (IMM 5257) 2. You need to check Visitor 3. I would suggest you to send 34X45 mm. Find a professional photographer in your area they will be able to give you required size, I got ours done for 30 bucks. 4. Haven't researched about other consulates, we mailed them to Detroit and the processing time was 4 weeks. Hope this helps. Link to comment
rahul412
1. Yes, that's Visitor Visa Application. 2.If it is visitor, then check visitor 3.Canadian visa photo req's are almost equal to US req's. Most of the stores can make that picture, try JCpenney. I got it from them. 4. To save time, send it to the one nearer to your residency. Link to comment
gcjourney
@ravi4408: DC is no longer accepting applications so better mail it to NY or LA. Link to comment
WiseTravel
For Canada Visa Photo requirements, Use the term "UK (EU) passport size in Walgreens" sized as 35mm x 45 mm (with head zoom +2).. Use Walgreens, so you can customize using country and zoom in further. You do not have to pay untill you agree with format, else you are getting robbed. Walgreens gave me digital copy too, only if you print the photos. > Los Angeles - Canada Consulate accepts TR applications only from people residing to the west of mississipi river... http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/los_angeles/visas/index.aspx?lang=eng&view=d http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mississippirivermapnew.jpg Link to comment
WiseTravel
Correction: about my last point. Los Angeles accepts TRV (Temporary resident visa both in person and mail) to any residents in US. West of mississippi rules is only for Temporary resident permits. Link to comment
