raheja_divisha
Hello all, Me and my husband received our EAD cards in February, and had our fingerprinting done in March. We were both on individual H1b's, he still has another 2 valid years on H1b, but mine expires soon. Some people say that i should apply for a separate H1b for my new job, just to be secure. Another issue is we plan to travel in November, and with no hope of getting Green card till then, should we travel on EAD/AP, or on our H1b's. We were planning to avoid a trip to the consulate for visa stamping. Your input is greatly appreciated. Link to comment
Belle
You have a choice here. To understand possible advantages and disadvantages of each way, you should talk to a qualified lawyer. Alot of things people say are pulled out of thin air. Link to comment
gcjourney
Being on seperate H1B's is like having an Insurance just in case something goes wrong with the GC application. If you think its a straight forward application then you can start using your EAD right away for your work. You should be able to use EAD/AP for travel and should be absolutely fine. Expect a secondary inspection at the POE for all on Advance Parole which is a standard procedure. Link to comment

ashishk1
You can change your status to H4 on your hubby's H1 and continue work on EAD. Link to comment
