PIMS verified, passport returned but original I-797 not returned

Hi everyone,

I attended visa interview on June 26th, 2012 at Ottawa.

Everything was ok but my I797 was not updated in PIMS.

So VO asked me to wait for email from them and didn't return my original I-797 and other documents.

On June 28th, around 5pm, I received an email from LOOMIS, saying that my passport has been pickup up.

On June 29th, I collected my passport, but didnot receive my Original I-797 document.

When I checked with LOOMIS again, they mentioned that they didn't receive any document other than passport in the envelope.

Anyone had same kind of issue - missing I-797 document?

Can someone please advise what to do? I emailed embassy and waiting for their reply.

Hello, Did your passport got stamped?

Please send mail to Ottawa consulate and take the same print out and show it to the security guard and explain the situation. They will allow you inside.

I attended inetrviw in Ottawa. I got 221G. I havent heard them for 40 days. At last,I did the same thing to collect the passport back to travel back to INdia.

Is there any different counter for answering our questions inside the embassy or the same counters where interviews are held?

Same Counter.

They will give the token to you. and once they called you have to explain the situation and then again u have to wait.

Then they will call again...to get things done.

Hi.

I went to embassy today, explained the situation to security, they allowed me inside and asked me to check in counter 7.

The guy in counter 7 asked my visa interview details(like counter # where I interviewed and date of interview), he went inside and checked my application . He could find my I797 with them and returned me.

Usually they send I797 document along with passport back to us, but its their mistake.to keep i-797 with them.

Anyways I received my doc and thanks for your replies.
