Hi,

Currently I am working on L1 B visa. My L1-B is expiring in Mar 2013 and I have I-94 until first week of September 2013. I have below queries regarding this.

1. Can I work on I-94 after March 2013 until Sep 2013?

2. Can I apply for L1-B extension (Before Mar 2013) and new H1-B (April 2013) together?

3. As extension on L1-B is very tough, what will be your suggestion?

4. Suppose I have applied for Fresh H1 in Apr 2013 then how do I stay here in USA after I-94 date (10-Sep-12) till H1 working date (01-Oct-2012) ?

Appreciate your help in this regard.

A foreign national who enters on an L1 visa obtained through a company's Blanket will generally be granted an I-94 card valid for 3 years. If the visa subsequently expires, this generally has no impact on a person's existing status.

That being said, a person in L1A status can generally not work in the U.S. past the 7 year mark unless he/she exits the U.S. for 1 full year.

Thanks Attorney 23 for your reply - just to make sure i understand your statement 'That being said, a person in L1A status can generally not work in the U.S. past the 7 year mark unless he/she exits the U.S. for 1 full year'

Does it mean if i stay beyond April 2013 based on my I-94 validity - I may have issue when i go for visa stamping next time to any US counsalate .
