EB3 to EB2 porting with same company

I am planning on moving on to a different role in the same company, anyone know if this is a legitimate way to move from EB3 to EB2 keeping the same PD? any success stories?.

EB2 versus EB3 depends on the job description and the requirement. I think original PD is for yours to keep forever but you need to make sure that the new position is EB2 eligible.
