Vidhya Bharathi Dhanabal
Hi, I lost my I 94 along with passport and have got an appointment at VFS to apply for a new passport. I have planned a trip to India by end of next month to get my Visa stamped again. By whom should be the affidavit of lost passport notarized? Will I have any problem for not having I 94 during my exit from US and returning back to US? Can I use copy of lost I 94 / I 94 at bottom of I 797 ? Please help me out. Link to comment
SameerH1Bworker
If you do not submit I-94 while leaving US then DHS system will show, you're still in US and it may accumulate out of status/illegal stay depends on your condition. You can get duplicate I-94 form, apply for that & once you get it, give it back to airline while you leave US. Note: duplicate I-94 is not free, they charge. I do not remember howmuch. pontevecchio
You can fill up an I94 card while leaving. You will not have any problems as nowadays they keep records. In fact if one forgets to return the I94 on departure, it is no longer necessary to send the I94 to their Kentucky Office. Link to comment
