pravindrareddy
My L1b Visa expires on Nov 2012 My i94 expires on Jan 2014 My wifes l2b visa expires on Nov 2012 My wifes i94 expires on Nov 2012 We went to CBP office to correct my wifes i-94. Out of surprise, he corrected my I-94 to Nov 2012. CBP officer was saying l1b I-94 expiry date should be matching. I94 expiry date should not be more than the l1b expiry date. I feel some where that he did not know the process or he did not have complete information. What can we do now? Link to comment
Attorney_23
Did you enter using a company's Blanket L1 visa? Or, was this an L1 obtained through an individual petition? Link to comment
pravindrareddy
Thanks for your reply. I entered using my company's L1B visa. Link to comment
Attorney_23
If you entered using a Blanket, CBP will ordinarily grant the beneficiary an I-94 valid for 3 years. You may need to go back and speak with a supervisor. Link to comment
pravindrareddy
Thanks for your reply. Today we went back to CBP office. This time some other officer was on duty. We explained our scenario and he consulted his supervisor. Supervisor agrees that we should get 3 years by default. Accordingly they have changed mine and my wife. We did some more research on this. Based on 8 CFR 214.2 (i) (11) law, L1 blanket is eligible for 3 years irrespective of Petition expiry date and Visa expiry date. Thanks for all your help. Link to comment
