Hi All,

My Situation is as below

I went to vancouver for H1b Stamping(F1-H1) november 2011 got it approved so i have my Stamp which expires on September 30th 2012.

I Got my h1b Extension approval yesterday....

So My Question is:

1) If i go for stamping based on my New I797 Extension before september 30th while i have my current stamping Active. if somthing goes wrong can i still come back on my current VISA Stamp?

2) Am working with Same Employer, Same Client and willing to goto same consulate Vancouver..will this be an advantage because i got the stamping approved with same employer, same client, same consulate...

The reason why i wanted to go for stamping is just because i have current valid VISA On My passport and wanted to find out if some thing goes wrong with my H1 Extension Stamping Can i Still come back with my Current Active H1b Stamp? ...If some experts can please suggest me would be a great help and will be appreciated...

Thanks,

Raj

once you attend a visa interview i guess the old visa will be stamped with big black letters "CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE"

so i dont think you can use that again

i am not expert on this but have an idea from one case where the visa was valid for one month and the guy attended the interview.

Yeah what you said is true...but when he gets new H1 Approved then even it is cancelled it doesnt really mater...but what if the you had query or H1 Stamping is denied??

it depends whether something goes wrong, and they have not cancelled the previous visa stamp.

your statements are confusing (following point 2).

you need to have a new stamp, so as in future you want to avoid any issues? current visa being valid and getting a new stamp makes a difference from my point of view. but again, its all luck and each petition is treated differently.

Good luck.

Sorry for the confusion below is the correction:

I went to Vancouver for Stamping last year November and got it approved till this Sept30th 2012 because my H1b was expiring on September 30th 2012..

Now i have applied for h1b extension and got it approved for another 3 years( And am still working for same client, same employer, same documents and wanted to goto same Consulate for stamping...So nothing changed from last VISA Interview )...So now if goto stamping before September 30th 2012 is it an advantage since i got the stamping approved last time with same set of documents?
