samark
hi, I had my appointment on 29th march 10am. here is the interview. vo:hi how are you. me:i am good.how are you vo:looking at the ds.160.what brings you all the way from Virginia to Vancouver. you can get it stamped around north east. me: I am on a vacation now and thought of getting visa stamped as well. i heard good things about the attractions around Vancouver.so though good place to do both. who do you work for me: abc who do you report to my employer do you work at your employer location no where is your client location? told him can i see your client letter? gave it to him why is your client managers fist name and last name order was different in authorization and signature.? who provided the text for the letter you? or your employer?. d Me. I said may be a typing error.and the text was not provided by me or my employer. My manager had given me. that is the last thing i would expect him to point at can i see your I 129? gave him who do you report to and who assigns you the work? my employer VO. I think he googled my client address and at the same time looking at my client letter what is xyz when you said your client was something else...my client managers email id is ******@xyz.com and even on my clients buildings the name says XYZ everywhere.... Me: the client i work for has different names in different states..I gave him few names of the company in different states.and he said OK. he kept the passport ds 160 H1b copy and I 129 and client letter with him saying.he may need to confirm couple of things and contact me in the next two of days. I asked him if i have to provide any docs and he said not at this time and would contact me if they need any by email or phone number on file. I was not given any 221G or any other form.he just gave the form at the end of the interview which everyone gets when their visa is approved. I am not sure what this means. did anyone had similar experience. Please reply me so that it would help me in proceeding further. how much time he may take to update me?. Link to comment
bkon20
I'm guessing your visa is most probably approved. You might get delayed by 1 or 2 days. Might be the VO wants to check that everything is OK from you side. He will contact you within 2 days as he said Link to comment

vancouvervisas
It just a normal process verifying whether you are working for a client or not. They will email the client with set of question regarding your tenure at the company. Link to comment

There is nothing so called easy or hard to get a visa. It all depends on how you answer the questions. But these days, it's luck which is playing a big role instead of your credentials. samark
@rahul412--yes i do agree that it all depends on the way we answer and these days luck matters too.but atleast in vancouver i have my friends got their visa's stamped in the month of feb and early march with few questions(most of them expected). these days it is tough to expect what exactly he is going to ask. I know we can be spontaneous and provide with some answer.but most of the spontaneous answers would lead to another question and it goes on.once the VO started asking questions in a direction which you dont anticipate. atleast 80% people try to be over cautious and give answers not to the liking of VO and end up in trouble. I wish things get better and everyone of us get the stamping and get back to our routine life. Good luck guys.if there is anything I could help you guys with. I will be happy to do that. bkon20
If you don't hear something by today afternoon, try emailing the consulate at vancouverNIV@state.gov asking about the status of you visa. Give them the details about your appointment, ds 160 number. they will usually reply within a couple of hours. Link to comment
samark
thanks for your response. I will try and email them asking for an update on the case. I am wondering if anyone were in the similar situation in the past. Please let me know if someone is in the similar situation. thanks.:) Link to comment
boilerdam
Hi everyone, I just read through this thread and it's turning out to be quite informative. I'm looking to get my stamping done in Vancouver in the next couple of weeks. I might be traveling to India in June. My H1-B was approved Jan 2011 and I haven't traveled outside the US since 2009. I graduated with an MS in 2010 and started working immediately after. I was on OPT for about 4 months while the H1-B was going through the application process. I work directly for the company, no middle men/vendor/client. What tips do you suggest? Everything from my side seems to be in order; GPA, university, company, visa process all seem good & straight-forward. But I'm sure that's probably not how the VO will see it. I'm sure all of you have faced a similar anxious state and any help would help. Thanks! Link to comment
vanvi
Hi Everyone, Me (H1 - Stamping) and my Wife (H4 - Stamping) are going to Vancouver on May 2nd. My case, i completed my masters from Canada and got my first H1 stamping in Ottawa in 2005. In 2008 i got my extension and went for stamping in MEXICO. I now work as FT employee and going for stamping, not sure what to expect. But reading through this thread, it makes me nervous. Hope all the pending cases in Vancouver get cleared soon. Good Luck! samark
hi, I am sorry if my experience scared you guys.but I posted here to see if anyone had a similar experience or known someone who had been through what I am going through now. My client manager didnt recieve any call or email or no one was contacted till now. I dont know if i have to assume that the might have seen nothing wrong with my case and thinking to give visa or they didnt even initiate the process of verification. Its been 6 days and every minute you wait keeps your frustration multiplying. and I hope they dont make me wait over the long weekend which is 3 days from now..I will keep you posted guys if i happen to hear any good news.. Good luck guys... Link to comment
