finger printing - do i need to be here -0

is it requird for me to be here in US after finger printing is done and at the time when my green card address..i will not be here in the US for the next 4 months but i have my friend living in my place..can he collect it.or do i need to be preent to get it

also, will there be any rejects on finger printing results other than the reason where it is being said, that the finger printing is not clear
