AOS pending and company acquired

Hi folks,

My AOS was filed by my company in the end of last November based on an aproved I-140 and it is currently pending. My company got acquired in January and so we have now filed an I-140 amendment based on the new company. So, I now have the AOS as well as the new I-140 application pending. Does the I-140 amendment have to be approved before the AOS application can be approved? i.e. is my AOS approval going to be delayed because of the amendment in the I-140?

Yes, I believe so. Your ammendment needs to be approved before I-485 is approved. It should not delay your case for long, though.
