I-140 approved - Changed from H1 to G4

Hi, due to some stipulations at my client's place, I had to change my visa category from H1 to G4 six months after my 140 has been approved. Can anyone tell me if my GC application would be cancelled as I have changed the status under which I had applied.

I will be back on H1 visa in one year from now. Will I be able to resume my GC processing (using the old priority date) from where I left off once I am back on H1 in one year. Please let me know what the implications are.

Any insight into this matter will be greatly appreciated.
