klnprasad Posted February 24, 2012 Report Share Posted February 24, 2012 It been 6yrs (3+3) for me on 2 indipendent L1B visa(s). my current l1b validity is untill July 31 2012, what are my options to continue further in US. I do not have GC filed. a) Can I go for L1B extn? or b) Can I go for fresh L1A ? c) Can I go for H1B? \ In all of the above cases, what would be my maximum period I can get any of thoese visa(s)? thx Prasad Link to comment
Attorney_23 Posted February 24, 2012 Report Share Posted February 24, 2012 A foreign national may ordinarily remain in the U.S. for a maximum of 5 years in L1B status (7 years for L1A). The individual must then generally leave the U.S. for 1 year to be eligible to return in L1 status. Time spent in L1 status counts against the maximum period of time allowed in L1 status.
