Hello,

I am on h1b and getting married in march 2012. My fiance is filling up DS160 form to book an appointment in advance right after marriage so that she can fly to US with me.

problem is, in DS160 it is asking for her marrital status, well our marriage has not solemnized yet

so technically she is still single but by the time we go for our visa appointment she would be married to me. Should she put the marital status as Married now it self or let it be single ?

do they take into account the marital status on the day form was filled or on the day appointment is held ?

Put the marital status as married now itself.

Since you are going for H4 visa, you need to fill the DS160 form as married.
