I-485 current, I-140 with old company

Hi,

Used to work for company X, X started GC processing, and got approved till I-140.

X acquired by Y.

Now, priority date is current, do I need file I-140 amendment (successor-in-interest)?

Yes, I think you do. You still may file I-485 while the ammendment is pending.

I am in a similar situation. My company filed for my I-485 and then got acquired. They have now filed an I-140 amendment and I now have a pending I-485 and a pending I-140 amendment. How does this affect the I-485? Does the I-140 amendment have to be approved before the I-485 can be approved? Or are the two independent from each other? Any info on this would be appreciated.

Thank you Belle, spoke with Attorney as well and they're already filing I-140 amendment as well.
