craigsblue
Hello I will be travelling to US (currently out of US) to file my I485 next week or so and will be again out of country for a few weeks. I wanted to plan my travel so that I could return for biometrics in time. Looks like there is a difference between processing times with service centers. I live in California. What determines where my I485 application will be processed. Please let me know. Thanks, Link to comment
craigsblue
any answers ? Is a service center randomly chosen for processing by USCIS ? Link to comment
JoeF
The SC is determined based on your place of residence. Link to comment
JoeF
It may be, though, that applications are moved to another service center, based on things like workload for each service center. Link to comment
craigsblue
Thanks Joe, Thats what I initially thought. I live in California (Sacramento) and applications seemed to go to Nebraska although I have seen a few of them going to Texas. Probably the load factor explains that. Thanks. Link to comment
ravikanth_19
I am located in Sacramento, CA aswell but my Service center is NSC. It seems like I-485 service center is also decided based on where your I-140 is approved from. It is more likely for your application to go to the same service center based on where your I-140 is approved from. Link to comment
