Recently, he was diagnosed with cancer and doctor has adviced him not to go to office until futher notice since he is undergoing treatment. I would like to know what options does he have with respect to the short term disability leave? Can he apply for this leave and if so, will his H1B be legally active? What are the terms of this leave? And for how long can it be availed? Also, what is the process of applying for this leave? I would really appreciate any prompt response as this is of urgent nature.
