Scorpio811
Hi All, My H1B visa stamp in my Indian passport has expired in September 2011 but I 94 of me & my dependents is is valid till May 2012. I was just wondering how I can extend the I 94 of my dependents after I get my new Approval notice. (I understand that my I 94 extension will be taken care of with a new approval notice, but I am not sure how my dependents I 94 can be extended) How do I apply for the extension of I 94 when they are inside USA? Is there any particular application form for that? Thanks to Murthy newsletter which made me aware of this issue Link to comment
livliv
Your dependents will have to file I-539 to extend their H4 status. This can be filed along with the H1 petition. Some employers do this by default. Link to comment

Scorpio811
Thanks livliv & pontevecchio. I will make my employer aware of this when they file for my extension & make sure this is done. Once again thank for this hitherto unknown bit of information Link to comment
livliv
Note that employers don't have to do it. It is still your dependents' responsibility to extend their status. Link to comment
pontevecchio
They do not have to. Most good employers would do this. Link to comment
