mkvd123 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Share Posted December 29, 2011 Hello All, Wondering if someone can help me answering my concern here: My H1B visa stamp was valid till 2009 from CompanyA. Then I transferred my H1 to Company B and got it approved. Currently I've valid I-797 and now I need to apply for either extension or H1 transfer (7th year of H1). My question is while H1 transfer or extension (which will be filed as status=single) is under process and if I get married, how can I update my status from single to married while trasfer/extension is still in process? Would it have any impact on approval? I sincerely appreciate your help! Thank you! Link to comment
pontevecchio Posted December 29, 2011 Report Share Posted December 29, 2011 It does not matter. Your spouse will need proof of Marriage and proof of your valid H1 status along with your latest H1 petition approval when she goes for the H4 visa after Marriage. Link to comment
