H1B transfer

I'm in my 6th year of H1B (expiration 10/2012).

I recently applied for transfer from company A to company B. I haven't received an approval (I797A) from USCIS yet but have been working with company B for past 2 months (4 paystubs so far).

Now, I have a better offer from company C and intend to accept that offer.

1. Is it possible to apply for transfer to company C even though transfer petition is pending for B.?

My latest I-94 is still valid (expiration: 10/2012).

2. I can convince company C for premium processing of H1B transfer, if necessary. Is it a good idea to wait for approval of transfer to company C and then resign at B, just to be on the safer side.

Any advise/help regarding this is appreciated.
