h1b extension in process travelling to india-Urgent

Hi

My h1b extension is still in process and i am planning to travel india in feb 2012, Can i travel in this case ?

Also My husband has an approved h1b so can my son (2 yrs old) who is a US citizen will be issued a travel visa /pro card if only 1 of his parents have h1b approved or to file his travel visa we need to provide both parents h1b approvals.

This is very urgent. Please help !
