dorchy Posted November 25, 2011 Report Share Posted November 25, 2011 I'm on H1-B and my wife's current status is H4. visas are expried but I-797 is valid till 2014. I had an interview in the delhi consulate and consular asked me various question one of which as where's your wife - and my answer was in US. She send me to additional processing 221G. Now I'm confused whether it was because my wife is in US. As per my understanding a VALID H4 can stay in US even if H1 is out for vacation or stamping. WHen I say valid that means H1 is employed. But I'm confused about it whether H4 alone can stay in US or not. will apprecaite your responses. Link to comment
