user30
Hi, I came to US in July 2007 on L-2 visa. I got L2 EAD work permit and started working from December 2007. In December 2009, my company sponsored H1 for me. My H1-B is valid until December 2012. My company will go for H1 visa extension in December 2012. I would like to know what is the maximum duration to which my H1 can be extended? Do they consider time spent in L2 for the '6 year computation'? Kindly advise. Thanks. Link to comment
sivad
yes, I think they will consider your total L2 time also within the 6 years of H1b. in my case, I completed 3 yrs with my L1b... so I have two ways to go from here... 1) going for 2 yr extension on L1b which is total of 5 years. 2) going for 3 yr extension of H1b which is total of 6 years. hope it is helpful.. pontevecchio
Time spent in L2 status is NOT counted for the H1. Link to comment
