sharma_ash21
Hi All, I recieved my GC approval a week ago. I have one question, Can I go to school full time after a year or so. I am planning to work for the employer who filed my GC for a year and then pursue study on full time basis in an entirely different field. By doing so , I hope I am not violating any conditions of permanent residency. As per my knowledge, one should work for the employer who filed green card for sometime to show that the GC application is not fraud based and then just have intent to live in US on permanent basis. I hope getting employement based green does not prevent individual to pursue hisor her interests ? thanks in advance..:) Link to comment
JoeF
Sure, after a while you can go to school. Nobody expects you to stay in your job forever. That would be unreasonable. You just have to avoid potential fraud accusations, and that's usually done by working for the sponsoring employer for 6-12 months. See http://www.murthy.com/485faq.html#13 Link to comment
