H4 interview at Hyderabad Consulate on 11th October

My wife attended H4 interview at Hyderabad consulate on 11th October. People scared me saying that H4s are getting rejected. My wife is pregnant (mid of second trimester) and I was told that if the dependent is pregnant the visa will not be approved.

I provided all the documents. During the interview the visa officer asked very few questions.

Visa officer asked my place of stay and she answered California and he asked for the actual address.

asked for the recent pay stubs (I have only two for 15 days each as I have moved here recently)

asked when did we get married and asked for marriage registration certificate

asked for wedding album and browsed two or three snaps from it.

asked for I 797 (though I provided original, he actually said copy of I 797)

And then said visa is approved.

In case anybody wants, I provided the following documents.

My wife also went on the same day... But she was given a 221(g) white slip... I provided all the mandatory and additional documents.Also i provided W2 for 3 yrs... back statements for last 9 months and Pay slips lo last 9 months.... still she got some wierd query.... So its not a fair statement to say that all H4 are getting accepted and in the same way all H4 are getting rejected.... Everything is luck at that moment and depends on VO's mood...

By the way this is my wife's 2nd H4 visa stamping... Previous one got expired couple of weeks back..

Applicants passport copy (first page and last page)

HDFC receipts (original)

One Photograph

Interview appointment letter copy

DS-160 Submission Confirmation copy

Letter from employer copy

(you need to submit original hdfc receipts and everything else is a copy)

VFS office has very good customer care. Call them for anything and they answer anything with patience and you will have peace of mind :-)

* Other than applicant's passport, you dont need anything in original during Visa interview.

My wife attended H4 interview at Hyderabad consulate on 14th October and she got the VISA. The VO just asked the W2, and the period i have been working for my employer. I provided almost same documents as mentioned above.
