Simonferr Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 Hello everybody - I hope I can get an opinion about my situation. I am an Italian national and I just got my I-140 approved (extraordinary ability, I self-petitioned). I just got my Employment Authorization card and advance parole document, and I am waiting for the I-485 to be approved. BUT, I am getting married with my girlfriend in the meantime, who is a Japanese national. We will marry in Japan or Italy in a few weeks. After that I will come back to the States and try to request the Uscis to amend my I-485, in order to include my wife as a derivative green card. I know it is important that we marry before I get the approval of the I-485. Anybody knows how I can amend the pending I-485? Thanks
pontevecchio Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 You HAVE to be married before the AOS is approved. Get hold of a Lawyer tomorrow. Consider marrying her very soon.
