sri1923 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Share Posted June 15, 2011 Hi, My wife's H4 VISA and I-94 were expired on 03/29/2011 and we talked to 3 different attorneys and they all suggested her to go back to India and get the VISA stamping there and tell the truth about the out of status to the VISA officer(which we already mentioned in the DS-160 form). I'm looking for the VISA appointments in hyderabad but I couldn't find any in the next 3 weeks but there are some dates open in Chennai for July 1st week. My question is can she go to Chennai for VISA stamping or is it a hard and fast rule that she has to go for VISA interview in hyderabad. Attorney_10 Posted June 17, 2011 Report Share Posted June 17, 2011 Since November 2010 Indian citizens are now permitted to apply for a visa at any U.S. consulate in India. Applicants are no longer restricted to applying only at the consulate that has jurisdiction over their area of residence. Link to comment
