Travelled US with newly transferred H1B petition and old employer visa stamping and I-94 with visa end date

Recommended Posts

I travelled to US from India with newly transferred I797 petition along with visa stamping from old employer.

At the POE, they issued I-94 based on visa end date mentioned in passport (not the end date from newly transferred petition).

I recently got a WhatsApp message from my old employer stating “they got some notice from USCIS which they should or new employer should respond, otherwise base petition get revoked automatically”.

When checked with new employer attorney they mentioned if base petition revoked then I-94 will become invalid. They are suggesting me to travel immediately to Mexico or Canada and get new stamping with recent petition. Current I-94 valid till Sep 2025.

Is this really possible, whether USCIS sent notice like that?

Not sure if I can travel now to Canada or Mexico since my I94 is valid till Sep 2025.

Please advise if anyone faced similar situation.
