In- Laws Overstayed in India for a year in 2020 due to Covid 19 restrictions

Recommended Posts

I had a question regarding my In- Laws  Green card status . In 2020 they overstayed in India for a year due to coronavirus restrictions while on Green Card . Will this affect their process and application for US citizenship? I was told an appeal needs to a filed before they apply citizenship and that might or might not require a finger printing . Is this true ?
Thanks !
