tusharvk
If the couple is trying or already pregnant, with the husband as the principal, I would imagine that some vaccine and possibly chest x-ray would be contra-indicated. The question is whether the vaccine is contra-indicated for both the spouses. Please advise. Link to comment
skm_user
If the couple is trying to get pregnant then only tetanus is given. if the lady is pregnant then even xray is avoided, although xray is only taken if the person is tested positive for TB. Link to comment
mkali
But in our case my wife did not get vaccinated and a letter from a doctor would do. Link to comment

In our case, my wife was pregnant and doctor did not take an x-ray. He mentioned it in doctor's report. We got an RFE for another medical for my wife which was submitted last year. Waiting for GC. jubbulu
If the Civil Surgeon mentions that the applicant is pregnant and that Chest X-ray was not done , USCIS will send an RFE later on to submit I-693 form once again. Link to comment
Shurap1
Most likely they issue RFE for medical exam to be performed again after pregnancy is over. Link to comment
tusharvk
thank you for all the replies. I gather that the wife will get RFE; but if the husband is the principal will he get his GC? in that case the wife's H4 status in the US is voided and she is out of status. Also, some doctors tell that the husband can be administered the mmr. Is that safe for the husband to get mmr with the wife being pregnant? Link to comment
tusharvk
folks Further what happens with the principal getting approved but the spouse's medical getting RFE. In this case, the husband will get the GC and wife's h-status will become void. Link to comment
