GC initiation minimum lead time for H1b employee

Is there minimum lead time requirement by US government for employer to start GC process for new first time H1b employee, is yes then how much time ?  Or is it true that employer can start the process as soon as possible once h1b employee is onboarded to job ?

Generally, while preferred for various reasons, there is no requirement a foreign national be employed by the green card sponsoring employer at the time of their sponsorship application. So yes, they can start the process as soon as onboarded.
