pratapchow Posted June 19, 2023 Report Posted June 19, 2023 Hi - I am on an H1B visa and my daughter (9 year old) is on an H4 visa, as a dependent to me. My wife is on her own H1B visa, working for a different organization. All of our visa stampings were expired and if we travel outside of the United States we need to go for visa stamping before we enter the United States back. In a few weeks, my wife and daughter are planning a trip to India, my wife is on her own H1B visa, so she will go for visa stamping with her application. With my daughter being my dependent, I booked her a separate visa appointment (in person as she is a minor) for stamping. Is that the right way or am I missing anything? Quote
rksingh Posted June 25, 2023 Report Posted June 25, 2023 (edited) Nothing wrong with what you did.....except it may be a little inconvenient for your wife as she will first have to appear for her interview and then accompany your daughter as a legal guardian. It would have been better to tie your daughters H4 with her mothers H1 visa application. Wondering out aloud: As a 9 year old, why does your daughter need an in-person interview...she should have been eligible for drop-box, right? see this link: https://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/en/interview-waiver Edited June 25, 2023 by rksingh Quote
