phoenix2150 Posted April 30, 2023 Report Posted April 30, 2023 I am an Indian citizen. My current Indian passport and immigration document does not have a middle name. I dont know why the passport did not have my middle name. My fathers name is my middle name. Thats very common among the Maharashtra state people. But most of my Indian documents had middle name. So I gave my middle name to SSN, employer and many other places. Slowly all my documents in usa have middle name but not indian passport and i797. Now I think it might cause problems to me as some of my docs have middle name and some do not. What is recommended to do at this stage. My i797, perm and all do not have middle name. Does it make sense to add middle name in the passport at this stage ? Quote
Zodiac System Posted May 2, 2023 Report Posted May 2, 2023 (edited) It is highly recommended to go by the name as written in the passport, to avoid future complications, as passport is an official document from the Indian Govt. and will be referred to very often. While filling forms, if there is a spot for an alias name, other name, maiden name, fill the name as written in the passport and vice versa. Good luck. Edited May 2, 2023 by Zodiac System Quote
