Attending visa interview from third country (country of residence)

Hi All,

I completed my 6 year H1B tenure in the US (in June 2022) and my US employer relocated me to the UK to work till I'm again travel ready to the US. My I140 is now approved and I'm planning to attend visa stamping in the London US consulate. But I'm hearing that attending visa interview from a third country is risky and attracts more scrutiny and rejections. Can somebody please tell me what exactly is considered as a third country? In my case, I'm in the UK to work for my US employer. So UK is my current residing country from Aug 2022. And it's easier to attend visa interview in London (wait time is 1-2 months) rather than booking an appointment in India.

I understand that there can be cases where people try to attend visa interview in a third country with just a visitor visa for that country. But in my case, I'm in the third country (UK) since last 8 months for work. So would my case still be considered as a third country application?

All my previous visa interviews were done in India, and I haven't had any rejections/RFEs
