chainsawman
I’m currently working two full-time jobs at companies A and B under F-1 OPT. Both companies registered me for the H-1B lottery. I was just informed that my H-1B registration for company A was selected, but not for company B. Do I have to quit my job at company B to move forward with the H-1B petition for company A and when would be the best time to quit (e.g., ASAP, before the H-1B petition for company A is filed, before Oct 1)? Thank you very much! Quote Link to comment
Zodiac System
Your H1b will start from October 01, 2023. You can keep working until September 30 for company A. Good Luck. Quote Link to comment
chainsawman
Thank you very much for your insight! Why it is that I can only keep working for company A until Sep 30 and not both companies? My understanding is that the period from H-1B filing to Oct. 1 is still considered under F-1 OPT, which should allow me to hold multiple jobs as long as they are related to my field of study, no? Appreciate any elaboration you may have. Quote Link to comment

Justanotherimmigrant
To piggyback of the same scenario and same question, my F1 ends on May 31. How would that work in my scenario? Quote Link to comment
