Is old H1-B will not work if i proceed with new lottery picked up

I already have an H1-B and stamped ,which got expired in 2019 ( many people mentioned that i can renew it before 6 years). I went to H1-B cap again this year, where it is picked up again. Can i proceed with old one or new one - if i go with new one, my old one will be cancelled? if some thing wrong with new one can i take forward the old H1-B?
