B3NZ3N3
I am finishing up my Master's degree in Dec 2022. I have a job offer to work at Johns Hopkins Hospital (so non-profit and associated with Johns Hopkins University). I will be applying for OPT on a start date of Jan 1 I think. May be a little early but no later than Jan 1. 1. Am I cap-exempt for H1B? 2. The employer is hesitant to commit to filing H1B petition right now, but seems open to filing next year. When is the last date when they can file the petition safely? 3. If they refuse to file my petition next year, when should I get a job with another employer? So, if they refuse in April and I get another job in June - is that OK for the H1B timeline? BONUS: Is it beneficial to still get the $200 consultation for these questions? Thanks!
