Srisha Belur
I recently got an offer letter from a company, but the compensation is hourly. I like the company, and I wish to know if this is acceptable.I got my H1B approved 4 months back. The company provides compensation as per the H1B prerequisite salary, but the salary is hourly.Am I allowed to work for an hourly compensation? I recently moved from the company which sponsored me, and I am looking to move to another company that accepts H1B transfers. Can I work on a hourly salary despite being on H1B?Any help is appreciated. Edited August 8, 2022 by Srisha Belur More clarification Quote Link to comment
Zodiac System
Yes you can work on hourly salary on H1b. This salary should be same or higher than the hourly salary mentioned in the LCA. Quote Link to comment
JoeF
You can work hourly, but the regulations require that you get paid for 40 hours/week, even if you work less. There are also overtime pay rules, so working for more than 40 hours means 1.5 times the pay for any hour over 40 hours. Quote Link to comment
