VM_1 Posted November 30, 2021 Report Share Posted November 30, 2021 (edited) 1. My wife is currently in a masters program on F1 status (also stamped recently by going to India) 2. She is about to graduate during December (but I-20 program end date is May 2022) 3. Earlier I had applied for my H1B extension and also my wife's H4 extension earlier (before she got F1 status) 4. I forgot to withdraw the H4 extension application. All of a sudden I got an approval of H4 status extension as well. 5. I understand she is now on H4 status as this approval happened later. What are the options for her to go back to F1 status? 1. Can she exit country and come back on F1 visa (using the stamp)? Will this void her H4 status and bring her to F1 status? 2. She has not yet applied for OPT. She was waiting for the program to end during December before she could apply for OPT. Edited November 30, 2021 by VM_1 Quote Link to comment
