My appointment confirmation have an important notes related to drop box and need some legal guidance related to physical drop off documentation. "You are not required to submit documents in person at the Drop-Off location but may send a representative carrying all the above listed documents as per specification" 1. Can I send my passport original, all documentations to India through courier services and ask a representative to submit drop box behalf of me without travelling to India? Collect the visa stamped passport later on? 2. If yes, is it legal to stay inside US without Passport? Appreciate your response. Quote Link to comment
adshah84 Posted November 28, 2021 Report Share Posted November 28, 2021 No you can not send passport overseas. As per the Consular General website,It is written in ALL CAPS...IT IS ILLEGAL TO SEND OUT YOUR PASSPORT OUT OF THE COUNTRY OF YOUR PRESENCE EITHER BY POST OR COURIER. Quote Link to comment
