Sunil Chunduri
My brother came to US on B-2 visa on December 5, 2020. He decided to study his bachelors degree here, so we applied to a few universities and received a I-20 for 1 of the university. After receiving I-20, we filed his change of status in March 2021 as May 2021 is when his classes were supposed to start as per I-20, but we didn't receive any response from USCIS till June so we had to reapply for a new I-20 from the same University again to add it to existing application with USCIS and update I-539. We received his fingerprint appointment in June and was completed. His I-20 has expired again and we have requested university for new I-20. I really need to understand the process and how long will it take for the change of status. Is there a way to expedite the process? Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
No. But you need to step up and help your brother by discussing his situation with a lawyer and going forward with what is best for him. Unless one has a potential student stamp while entering in B2, they generally do not entertain the COS. Quote Link to comment
