Dependents on H4 did not get I94 upto my H1B transfer approval date

Validity on my H1B visa is until Sept 2021. I got H1B transferred and now the I94 on my I797 shows until Jan 2024 .  My wife and kid (on H4) travelled from India to US and on port of entry, got I94 only until Sept 2021. 

What steps should we take next ?

They needed to show your latest H1 petition approval on coming back. You need to apply for EOS for them till January 2024.

What is the validity of the passports of your spouse and kids?  If their passports are valid beyond January 2024 then contact your nearest CBP office with all the relevant documents and request them to give an I94 stamp until January 2024.

Alternatively, you can file for their H4 extension based on your H1b approval.  Good Luck
