ImmigrantSinger
My wife and I are currently in the US on H1B. My wife is pregnant, the baby is due in July and my mother-in-law who lives in India would like to travel here for the birth of our baby. Given the travel ban from India due to COVID19 we are worried that she won't be able to visit for the birth in June. Is there a way to request an exception? She is completely vaccinated. Does she have a visa? You can request an exception by sending proof of mother-in-law vaccination, photographs of your pregnant wife, medical report from doctor, letter from the doctor about the due date and how important it is to have mother-in-law presence for the same. JoeF
Unlikely. That's not an emergency. And they would suspect that she would be helping in the household, which is not allowed for visitors. She can visit the family when the lockdown is over. Quote Link to comment
newacct
There is no exception for vaccinated people. If she can travel to a country that is not subject to a country-based ban for 14 days first, she can then fly to the US with no problems. Quote Link to comment
