USDC21
I have completed biometrics but want to postpone my Citizenship process by a year due to certain priorities in India. I have my Interview scheduled in May'21. Is it advisable to postpone my Interview now or attend the Interview and postpone Oath Ceremony later ? Quote Link to comment
Mia29
Hi, were you able to get any response/guidance for your question? I am in a similar situation. Thanks Quote Link to comment
guest33
Hello, Just wanted to relay my experience. I attended the interview and spoke about my travel plans to the officer. She was very understanding and gave me the option to close/resume my case, which I didn't want to do. After the interview, I also did send an advance notice/letter to the local USCIS office, as the officer had advised, intimating them of my travel plans and requested them to schedule my Oath Ceremony accordingly. However, despite the letter, my Oath Ceremony was scheduled twice during my travel and I had to miss those. I waited another three months and contacted the senator's office to finally get my ceremony scheduled. In summary, I guess it would be better to attend the interview and get the Oath Ceremony rescheduled (although it was my least favorite part of the whole process) instead of trying to postpone the interview itself. Hope this helps. Quote Link to comment
