H1B VISA stay after approval under CAP

Hi All,

I am in an atypical situation with regard to H1B. I worked in a non-profit before and applied for CAP-exempt H1B. I worked there for ~2&1/2 years on H1B. Later I resigned and went to a graduate doctoral program on F1 for 6&1/2 years. After graduation I worked for  2 years on OPT (optional practical training). Now I am in a for profit company and my H1 got picked in the H1B CAP registration system. My question is since H1B can be used only for 6 years and I have used 21/2Y of it ~8 years ago, do I only get to use whatever period left now? (or) since it a fresh pick under CAP system will I get to use fresh entire 6 years? Please let me know. Thanks!

H1 got picked in the H1B CAP registration system --- your petitioner cannot answer your question ?

This, but take an opinion of attorney who filed your petition.

Since it is fresh pick under CAP lottery system, you should be eligible for all the 6 years.  lets see what other experts advise.
