I am currently interviewing for residency and all the programs have mentioned that they only sponsor J1. Can you please suggest the best way to approach this? 1. Will I still need my H1b stamping in case I match to J1 residency? 2. H1b to J1 conversion - Is it better to go to India and get the process done or apply for a change of status from here?
