Travelling while Green card is in process

Hello everyone, I am hoping if you can help me with this situation.

I am planning to sponsor Green card to my mom this month who is here with me in USA on a visitor visa. I got couple of questions:

1. Her I94 is expiring in April first week. Can she travel to India while the green card is still in process?

2. If she cannot travel then can i file for her visa extension if the green card application is still in process.

Please advise.
