mrk24
I got laid off on Nov 24th 2020. I would like to know whether my 60 days grace period count starts from 25th Nov 2020 or my last pay check date which was 04th Dec 2020? Please clarify.. Some people say I can stay up to 90 days if i don't find any new job. Does this impact my GC processing in future? appreciate your help here!! Quote Link to comment
rksingh
the 60 day grace period starts from the date you stopped working....paycheck date has no bearing on grace period. Any overstay beyond the 60 days may have an adverse impact on your GC...consult your immigration attorney as a few unique situations (such as hospital stay etc) may be forgiven. Quote Link to comment
Zodiac System
Your pay check will mention the "service period" for which you have received payment. And this service period will mention payment until November 24th, 2020. It should not affect your GC processing. Quote Link to comment
